The Entrepreneurship Development Cell is now working in a bigger platform involving the students of Arts, Science, Commerce and BBA Departments. The different activities in 2014 include:
- Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp-I was held on 09.08.2014 where the students had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Gooptu, Chairman of Rotary Committee District 3291. Presentation of business plans in different areas enlightened the students with many innovative thoughts. There were 6 participating groups and the winner group was from Comp. Sc. Department, 3rd year with the idea of their innovative Kolkata Metro App.
- Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp-II, In-house B-Plan was held on 26.09.14. Under the mentoring of the two judges Mr. Saurov Sett and Mr. Mahul Brahma, the students were immensely enlightened about the opportunities in the field of entrepreneurs. There was a brilliant enthusiasm and participation from students with a total of 27 groups and the winner group was from Economics Department, 2nd year.
- A group of three students from Dept. Of Comp. Sc. attended the International Conference on Entrepreneurship Innovation and Inclusiveness- A Strategic Paradigm, conducted by Jyoti Nivas College (Autonomous), Bangalore on 17.09.14 where they won the Third prize in the Business Plan Competition held during the conference. They also won a cash prize of Rs.10,000.
- Enactus, an international non-profit organization in collaboration with St. Xavier's College, provides a platform for students to collaborate with business and academic leaders in the development of entrepreneurial-based projects. The core group has already been formed and the students will present meaningful projects by January,2015.
