Mahul addresses IIT-KGP’s Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive

Techno India Salt Lake, in association with the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Kharagpur successfully hosted the Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive (EAD) with its last foot in the City of Joy on 25th of this month.

This one-day awareness drive was graced by the motivational lectures of some eminent speakers like Mr Mahul Brahma (Head-Corporate Communications and Branding at mjunction), Mr Sirish Agarwal , Mr Suman Mukhopadhyay (director,banglanak dot com), Mr Rana Dutta, Miss Sukriti Agarwal (Co-founder and director at Outbox), Mr. Abhinaba Dey (Co-founder and CEO of opusnest) and Mr.Sujoy Biswas (COO of Techno India Group). The main objective of the event was to emphasize the significance of entrepreneurship as the pivot of the development of the nation and henceforth encourage the youth to choose the path less trodden by.

India, poised on the threshold on becoming a superpower, is in a need of strong citizens with the ability to hold the helm and steer the nation towards a brighter tomorrow. Those with this ability and the will to lead are the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kharagpur, hopes to play its part in realizing this vision.The Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive, one of the most massive flagship events undertaken by the Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kharagpur is a one of its kind initiative held in 24 cities across the nation in order to stimulate the spirit of entrepreneurship and encourage students to embrace the idea of starting their own venture. With its humble beginnings in 2009 with 10 cities, EAD has grown to insurmountable heights, with EAD being held in 23 cities in the last edition (2013) and an extensive footfall of over 15,000 students. Held in the first fortnight of October in a reputed college of the respective city, it consists of a series of guest lectures by distinguished local entrepreneurs, termed as Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps (EAC’s) followed by a panel discussion or a workshop.This assists us in fulfilling our goal of reaching out to the youth of the nation and kindling in them the vigor to create their own enterprise and facing the challenges and obstacles offered by this journey, undeterred.

Here in Kolkata, Techno India Group is facilitating a culture of entrepreneurship, rigorously amongst its students and is setting up various incubations to develop an ecosystem of Entrepreneurship.

Technopreneur’s Surrogate Ventures is such an initiative undertaken by Mr Meghdut RoyChowhury, Director of Global Operation, Techno India and Ms Payel Chattopadhyay, Founder, GeoScholars to start a facility for aspiring entrepreneurs to accelerate their business plan through mentorship, networking and incubation. Technopreneur’s Surrogate Ventures is starting its phase 1 by inaugurating a co-working place with all facilities for 400+ start-ups from November. Through this drive, Technopreneur’s Surrogate Ventures aims to develop an ecosystem of entrepreneurs in India.
